Yoshitaka Amano is an artist, character designer, concept designer, illustrator, book designer, and scenic and costume designer.

Career

Amano began his career at Tatsunoko Production, working on character design and concept art for animated series.

In 1987, Amano received an official logo-and-image-illustration credit for Final Fantasy.

Amano received Seiun Awards in 1983-1986 and again in 2007.

DEVA ZAN was unveiled in 2010 and is the predecessor of the current ZAN project.

Interesting Facts

  • Amano won the 2000 Will Eisner Comic Industry Award for The Sandman: The Dream Hunters, a collaboration with Neil Gaiman.
  • Amano's visual art has been published in more than twenty art-book collections.
