Yoshi privacy policy covering collected data, connected accounts, analytics, third-party services, data sharing, storage, deletion, and safety
What Yoshi collects
Yoshi collects only the data needed to operate the app and the features you choose. Depending on how you use Yoshi, this may include:
- account data: email address, user identifier, sign-in method, and account settings;
- app data: saved games, folders, lists, statuses, ratings, settings, and preferences;
- connected-account data: public profile details, account identifiers, game library or game lists, statuses, and sync data;
- support data: messages you send to support or through a feedback form;
- usage data: app usage events, interactions with features, and general app operation statistics;
- technical data and diagnostics: error logs, performance data, app version, device, and system details needed for diagnostics, safety, and stable service operation.
How we collect data
We receive data when you create an account, use Yoshi features, search for and save games, change settings, connect a gaming account, contact support, or when the app automatically sends technical events needed for analytics, diagnostics, safety, and stable service operation. When you use search, the query text may be processed to provide search results.
How we use data
We use data to:
- create and maintain your account;
- provide game search, collections, folders, statuses, ratings, and recommendations;
- sync connected gaming accounts if you enable that feature;
- respond to support requests and process feedback;
- analyze app operation and improve features;
- find and fix errors, crashes, and performance issues.
Connected gaming accounts
Connecting a gaming account is always optional. When you connect a gaming account, Yoshi receives only the data needed for the linked feature to work: public profile details, account identifiers, game library or game lists, statuses, and sync data. You can disconnect a connected account in the app. After disconnection, new data from that service is no longer synced, but previously saved data may remain in Yoshi until you delete it or delete your account.
Analytics and diagnostics
Analytics help us understand how the app works and which features are used. Diagnostics help us find errors, crashes, and performance issues. We do not ask you to send passwords or personal sign-in details for gaming services. We also do not use analytics to intentionally collect passwords, personal sign-in details, full search query text, or unnecessary content from your messages. If you send a support request or feedback, the text of that request may be processed to respond to it and solve the issue.
Third-party services
Yoshi may use third-party services for hosting, databases, authorization, data storage, monitoring, analytics, diagnostics, feedback, support, and game information. These services receive only the data needed to perform the relevant function. Providers to whom Yoshi transfers user data for app operation must protect that data at a level comparable to this policy and use the data only to provide services to Yoshi.
When you open or use a third-party service, such as a feedback page, gaming service, or external source of game information, that service may process data under its own privacy policy.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following cases:
- with services that help Yoshi operate;
- with connected gaming services when you choose to use the relevant feature;
- when necessary for safety, abuse prevention, or protection of rights;
- when sharing is required by law, mandatory government request, or court order.
Storage and deletion
We keep data while your account is active, while data is needed for the features you choose, for support, diagnostics, safety, or while storage is required by law. You can manage data in the app, disconnect connected gaming accounts, and initiate account deletion in the app. After account deletion, we delete the data linked to it except for data that we are required or permitted to temporarily keep by law, for safety, abuse prevention, backup recovery, or dispute resolution.
Your rights and choices
You can request access to your data, correction, or deletion through app features or the support address shown in the app or on Yoshi’s legal page. Depending on your region and applicable law, you may also have other rights regarding your data. You can also disconnect connected gaming accounts and change available privacy settings in the app.
Children
Yoshi is not intended for children in countries and regions where processing data requires consent from a parent or guardian. If you have not reached the age at which you can independently use such services under applicable law, use Yoshi only with permission from a parent or guardian.
Safety
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or deletion. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Policy updates
