Rob Runesson is a video-game developer. He is a studio co-founder and executive producer.

Career

Runesson joined DICE in early 1998 after being recruited by Kenny Magnusson.

He advanced at DICE to lead the studio's visual development as Art Director.

He co-founded Embark Studios in November 2018.

Runesson was publicly identified as Executive Producer of THE FINALS during its live-development and post-release period.

Embark Studios and Runesson mutually agreed to part ways on March 17, 2026.

Interesting Facts

  • Before joining DICE, Runesson studied chemistry and biology at Karlstad University and the University of Gothenburg, leaving five points of coursework unfinished when he accepted the DICE job.
  • Runesson came through Sweden's demoscene, worked with the C-Lous group, and freelanced on logos and graphic identities before entering game development.
