Keita Takahashi is a Japanese game designer and artist, recognized for creating the Katamari series. He was born in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.

Career

He joined Namco as a visual designer in 1999.

He directed the landmark game Katamari Damacy, released in 2004.

After leaving Namco in 2010, he founded Uvula with his wife.

He joined Tiny Speck's Glitch team in 2011 as part of its core game design.

He moved to San Francisco in 2013 and joined Funomena's project work.

Interesting Facts

  • His sculpture training produced functional objects, including a goat-shaped vase designed to hold flowers and drain water.
  • Katamari Damacy entered the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection in 2012.
