Dan Houser is a video-game writer and producer. He co-founded Rockstar Games with his brother Sam in 1998.

Career

He served as Rockstar Games' Vice President of Creative and Head Writer for twenty-one years.

Take-Two announced in February 2020 that Houser would leave Rockstar on March 11 after an extended break beginning in spring 2019.

Houser announced the establishment of Absurd Ventures in June 2023.

In September 2022, Houser joined Revolving Games' advisory board after participating in its funding round.

  • Houser is a member of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame.
  • In a 2012 interview, Houser said Rockstar's early work was influenced by films including Scarface, Reservoir Dogs and Boyz n the Hood.
