Aubrey Hodges is a composer, musician, multi-instrumentalist, sound designer, and video-game audio director.

Career

Hodges says his professional career began in 1985 with live performance and touring.

Hodges entered game audio through Sierra On-Line after meeting Mark Seibert, initially doing technical conversions before taking on composition work.

After Sierra, Hodges moved to Midway in San Diego and spent about ten years there, including music-development work on console Doom and Quake projects.

Hodges was Audio Director at EA Tiburon and worked across Madden, NCAA Football, and NASCAR-related audio projects.

Hodges worked as an audio director at 38 Studios on the unreleased Project Copernicus, including original composition and sound work.

Interesting Facts

  • At Sierra, Hodges says he wrote 129 songs in 45 days for Conquests of the Longbow: The Legend of Robin Hood.
  • For Doom audio, Hodges experimented with unusual source sounds including a bee in a can, a broken laptop fan, and a large Taco Bell drink cup for monster effects.
