Kazuyuki Hoshino (星野一幸) is a Sonic creative director and character designer associated with SEGA's Sonic Team.
Career
Hoshino entered Sonic game development with Sonic CD, contributing character, special-stage and visual design.
He created or designed major Sonic characters including Amy Rose, Metal Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehog.
He served as Art Director on Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2.
By the release of Sonic Mania, he was serving in a Sonic-wide Creative Director role while contributing to the game's creative presentation.
Interesting Facts
- Hoshino said Metal Sonic was the first character he designed on his own and that he remains especially attached to it.
