Lee Petty is a video-game developer associated with Double Fine Productions.
Career
Petty began working in games at Accolade in the mid-1990s after earlier work in comics and film/video compositing.
Petty co-founded Circus Freak Studios around 1999-2000; the studio shipped Superman: The Man of Steel for Xbox and worked on cutscene cinematics.
Petty joined Double Fine with Brütal Legend as his first project and served as its Art Director.
During Brütal Legend development, Petty developed and led the Stacking project through Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight process.
Petty created and led Keeper, released by Double Fine in October 2025.
Interesting Facts
- Petty was born in Hawaii and grew up in Sacramento, California.
- Petty said he wrote the entirety of Stacking and designed most of its puzzles during his train commute.
