Jason Graves
Jason Graves is an American composer whose work spans video games, film and television.
Career
Graves wrote music in high school, studied music at Appalachian State University, and later studied film and television scoring at the University of Southern California.
Dead Space was a major breakthrough game score and received two BAFTA awards.
He scored Still Wakes the Deep and its Siren's Rest expansion, using custom and experimental instruments for their industrial and underwater sound worlds.
Interesting Facts
- For Still Wakes the Deep, Graves commissioned a metal sound sculpture shaped like an oil rig and nicknamed it “The Rig.”
- For Far Cry Primal, Graves built much of the score from natural and handmade sounds including wood, bone, stone, clay, dirt, breath, voice and ritual percussion.
