During a retrieval operation in Iceland, trainee aircrewman James Bond becomes the sole survivor after both helicopters are shot down. Bond's investigation uncovers a conspiracy involving Sir Nicholas Webb, an AI pioneer whose quantum supercomputer THEIA has been making fatal errors that Webb is covering up through terrorism. When Webb leverages stolen MI6 data for immunity, Bond goes rogue, teaming with thief Isola Vale to infiltrate Webb's Antarctic base and destroy his replacement AI, HYPERION.
